Shu-Te University's College of Design was established in 2000. In response to the upcoming era of knowledge economy and the needs of Taiwan's construction development, the college has been cultivating the professional design experts with the abilities of research, development, planning and execution.
Presently, College of Design comprises seven departments and two graduate schools. They are Department of Product Design, Department of Fashion Design, Department of Visual Communication Design, Department of Interior Design, Department of Architecture and environment design, Department of Digital Technology and Entertainment Design, Department of Performing Arts, Graduate School of Applied Fine Arts and Design, and Graduate School of Architecture and Interior Design. STU's College of Design, as compared to other universities in Taiwan, has structured the most complete design programs.

Besides the regular courses, the college conducts well-planned special programs to meet students' needs for their double majors and minors. The course design in the college focuses both on theory and practice as well as tradition and invention. In addition, the college has been developing its own design features from the local and international design trends.
The college has the most advanced digitalized educational facilities and efficient e-learning environment, as well as outstanding faculty of enthusiasm and pragmatic teaching focus. Furthermore, the college emphasizes the cooperation and interactions with industry and international academy. By providing such high-quality environment for design education, we expect that our students will stride to the international stage with all the efforts we have made together.
